One way Dr. Covington stays active in the community is by visiting local Beaufort area schools to educate children during National Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM).  Pediatric dentistry is one of Dr. Covington's favorite subject and she loves to see the kids. 5 Dental Inspired Halloween Costumes!!!

Halloween is such a fun time of year for communities to celebrate the changing season, and for children and families to get into costume. This year, our Lady’s Island dentist thought we’d share our favorite Halloween costumes that are all about teeth. 1 – Tooth Fairy Our favorite dental character, the Tooth Fairy, makes an excellent costume choice for any young child going trick-or-treating this year! Tooth Fairies get to wear wings, a crown and carry an awesome wand or staff that can also feature a tooth! 2 – Dentist Many children admire their dentist! What Should I Expect at My Child’s First Dental Visit?

At Lowcountry Family Dentistry, our well-trained staff will ease your child into the new dental atmosphere and make them feel comfortable and relaxed while our dentist gently performs the initial exam.  During this extremely important oral health check, our dentist will pay close attention to your child’s bite and the way their teeth are coming in. Identifying potential issues early is a great way to utilize proactive care.  Often, Dr. Covington will order a dental cleaning, topical fluoride rinse, or other treatment to give your child a good boost in future cavity prevention and to help strengthen tooth enamel.
